The Twilight Movie = Epic Winness!

I'm just gonna copy what I said on Bella Penombra...so here it is!:

Okay okay, so it took ages to start I was sitting in my seat almost EXPLODING from fangirl and when it finally came on I had a little squee attack. To get it out of the way. You know. Anyway. I was BEGGING my little heart off for a Kristen voiceover, and I got my wish! I was so pleased. But I found the beginning bit with Bambi weird. I dunno. And the cactus? I mean wtf? I guess its her reminder of Arizona, but I found it a bit strange.

From then on, it picked up. Jake's entry was a bit out of order, but I liked it. He was cute, and I loved Taylor. He was fantastic in the whole movie.

Bella's first day of school was priceless. I loled when Jessica and Mike were just cracking up about something Bella said about her being kicked out of Pheonix. I just found it funny how funny they found it. All the humans were great. They were really natural characters. I LOVED it when the Cullen's came in, and then Edward. It was just what I wanted. Except I wanted bannedwordyback to be playing.

Best scenes:
The Port Angeles scene: Awesome. Especially the resturant. When Edward was like "I can read minds." and then saying what people were thinking. "bannedword. Money. bannedword. bannedword. Money. Cat."
:D :D :D

The Cullen's House scene: Awesome. Emmett was the best. I loved him in the movie. The knife! The ittalian comment!

Edward meeting Charlie: The gun. Enough said. The entire theatre was cracking up.

The Baseball Scene: Awesome. The music was really cool, and it fit the mood of the game. I loved how Alice did the little leg lift thing too.

The Ballet Scene: So I'd seen quite a lot of it before, but I found it way better on the big screen. I don't know what it was. But it was just...so much more intense, and scary, and amazing. It was random though, when Edward was sucking out Bella's blood and trying to stop he had this HILARIOUS expression on his face and the entire room was laughing. Innappropriatly. As we all were when the fan blew Bella's hair. God that was funny.

The Prom Scene: Kristen looked totally pretty! I didn't actually like her dress, but it looked great on her. The scene in the gazibo was really great (although the other couples exits were...uh...unusual). Kristen and Rob both dazzled me when they were dancing and it was just so personal and romantic *sighswoonfaint*. It was great.

Complaints:
Very few. I guess all the sort of montague bits with Edward and Bella "bonding" were okay, but they felt a little weird to me. I also found it weird how Kristen was often paler than Rob.

Also the meadow. Very choppy. I loved that bit in the book. And it was all out of order. I found it creepy how they just walked off into the woods for no apparent reason.

Edward Sparking. I actually liked his sparkles! They weren't overdone or underdone too much, which was great. He looked pretty. Except for the weird twinkling sound in the backround. I mean wtf?! We know hes dazzling her, we don't need the glitter sound effects!

Overall I LOVED it and I can't wait to see it again when it is actually released here in 6 days.

Hey!

Me and a girl I met on a Hunger Games forum (shoutout to Cayla!) have started a Hunger Games community, right here on livejournal!

No posts at the moment, but its a work in progress. If you haven't yet read the book...read it. Its the next Twilight. Or the next Harry Potter. Its a trillogy. So jump on the bandwaggon before everyone else does, so you can say you were one of the first!

So are yellow jeans a yay or a nay?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This weekend I read an excellent book! It is really quite awesome. I didn't expect to love this book as much as I did. It is called the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and I loved it.

Breif Summary: Sixteen year old Katniss is fiercly loyal to her little sister, Prim, after her father died and her mother stopped looking after them. So when Prim is selected to participate in "The Hunger Games", a last-man-standing battle, Katniss takes her place. Now Katniss must take part in a barbaric, one-for-all game, and fight for her life.

*end lame summary* This book cannot be summed up. You just have to read it. It was really good, I cannot believe how gripping it was. I read the whole novel in under 24 hours. I would highly recommend it to all teenagers. Even my brother is loving it (we usually like different books, but I convinced him to read this one!).

Definatly on my best books of '08 list!

So the nationals were EPIC WIN!
Yeah.
I got silver for kata and bronze for kumite (sparring).
I was in a kata-off for first and second for my kata, but the girl who bet me had a horse-riding stance that was like sumo *_*. I was a little POed, but she was really sweet. I was being judged my own Sensei's so they were tougher on me!

Our Team Kata was crap, Gaylene announced the wrong kata! =D So funny! Sensei Josh was cracking up. We got beaten by a team of all black belts anyway.
Same with Team Kumite (fighting.)

The best bit was meeting Sam and Ben and Noah! Especially Sam, since I've known her for ages off the internet and I got to meet her and it was awesome! We gave each other flowers.

My brother did really well; he got 2 golds and a silver, and he was really good. =]

It was so much fun, I can't wait until next year!

Yeah, uh...also I feel bad because I had McDonalds for lunch today and I had Sensei Scotts face on my burger the whole time going "ITS STILL GONNA BE THERE IN TWO WEEKS FOR THE NATIONALS!"

Kinda freaky actually.
But it was very yummy.
Therefore worth it.

Hey guys!

So I'm just blogging to say OMG! less than 2 weeks until the nationals (aka the New Zealand Champs for GKR Karate). I'm so excited! So my tournament kata is saifa, since I suck at bassai dai, and I'll see how sparring goes on the day.
No more coffee, coke, junk food or mcdonalds for 2 weeks :(
Lots of bananas...

I also got a haircut today! its a bit shorter but I think its cute. I love it.

Hi!

We're doing an "Olympics" contest on Bella Penombra and its awesome. Our team is Bibliophile and the first contest is a song parody (Twilight style). So I'm going to share ours!

I Sniffed A Girl                                          (I Kissed A Girl)
                          By Team Bibliophile                                    (Katy Perry)

Class did not go the way I planned, paid no attention,
Tried to swap class, saw Mrs. Cope, at school's reception,
It's not what I should do, sniff her StrawberryHair
I'm curious for you, Alice please don't mention...

I sniffed a girl and I liked it,
the smell of her fruity type B
I sniffed a girl just to try it,
Hope my coven don't mind it.
It smelt so wrong,
it smelt so right.
Don't mean to bite her tonight.
I sniffed a girl and I liked it (I liked it).

No, I don't even know your thoughts, it doesn't matter.
You're my not-yet-immortal girl, just smelling tasty.
It's not what good vamps do, not how they should behave.
I get so confused it's hard, stayin' veggie

Humans they are so tragical
Soft skin, red blood...delectable.
Hard to resist, so edible.
Too good to deny it.
Ain't no big meal, just nourishment!

1. What would have made you happy?
The book. Everything. I was just happy that there was a fourth book. Stephenie, you are a genius and you had every right to write everything you did!

2. Did Bella/Ed's non-existent sex irritate you or make you happy to forever be in your happy place with Edward of your own fantasy?
Uh, I thought there was pleanty of sex. Sure, no full on descriptions, but it is supposed to be a young adult book. Any more description would have ruined the innocence that we all love about their relationship. Plus my own happy place is pretty awesome, thanks.

3. Did you transition from hating Jake with the power of a thousand suns to mild annoyance to exasperated acceptance OR did you just hate the Wolfe from A - Z (and want to rip out Book2 from BD no matter how much you paid for it)?
I loved Jacob's section! Those chapter names? Brilliant. Hes awesome. I loved all his sarcasim. So I didn't transition from hating Jake to anything. I loved him all along.

4. Who is your favourite character (other than Bella or Edward) now? (I realise now that I never appreciated Emmet before now XD)
JACOB! Always, dude. Always. But I did love the Romanian Vampires! They were pretty cool.

5. Do you have a sudden desire to buy goose-down pillows now? XD
HAHA! No, I hadn't thought of that. But yes. =]

6. Were you expecting a certain character to develop differently and if so how/why?
I expected Alec and Jane to develop a bit more. *sigh* Oh well.

7. Do you think we will really get a sequel? I'm really curious as to how other people see Bella now...would be nice to see and outsider observe her simlar to how she observed Edward in Twilight.
Yeah, I hope we get a sequal! Even if it sucks, I'll still read it *loyal*

8. Did you like anything about the book? Come on not even Edward shirtless? o_0
Yes! I liked the book a lot. Edward shirtless, yes. Emmett's suggestive non-baseball-related jokes, yes. Jacob, yes. Jacobs blonde jokes, yes.

Vampires or werewolves?

View 502 Answers

*Twilight rant*

Oh my Edward!
Oh my Jacob!

Well, I saw this on the writers block thing, and I had to answer. Firstly, I'm a huge Twilight fan. (no duh foo!). So I obviously am into the whole werewolf/vampire thing.

To be honest, both have their ups and their downs. Vampires are sexy, fast and have super powers. Werewolves are warm, fuzzy and hot-tempered.

In Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series: The vampires pwn. Seriously. They have money, looks and powers! Seriously? The only downside is eternal damnation.

If I had to choose which one I was? I'd pick being a werewolf. What? I hear you ask? Well, I reply, its just that. Its a choice. Werewolves have speed, power and sexiness. But they do have the option of staying human. Which is the best choice. And plus, theres that awesome imprinting thing.

What should cheese go on, and what should cheese NOT go on?

View 501 Answers

Well, it depends on the cheese. Mild can often go with things like peanut butter and coffee; but brie cannot. Marscapan is sweet, but blue is sour. The perfect cheese should ideally be able to go on your ice cream and on your salad.
I'm thinking about this too much.

Harrow.

Its Emma here, again, and I'm POed. Why? Well, I'll tell you why Emma. I didn't get selected for the GKR Karate Wellington Tournament Team. I guess I'm just more disappointed than anything. But I went on my birthday! My sixteenth birthday. When I could have been out...oh, I dunno, getting drunk or whatever other sixteen-year-olds do (more like reading my book...).

There were three sessions that you had to attend. I guess that was my first mistake. I didn't go to the first because I was at a friend's party. I'd already committed to going, her birthday is in Jan and she doesn't have her party in the holidays. So that seemed like a good excuse. Anyway, I went on the 17th, my birthday, and it was intense. Like 100 sit ups, 150 press ups, 200 reverse/lunge punches intense. Pretty painful. I couldn't move for three days. Anyway, I went again yesterday. Again, same sort of thing, but worse. We did squat kicks. You probably have no idea how painful those are, but you'd know if you did them. 100 of them. And reverse punches.

At the end they announced who was on the 2008 Tournament Team. Sweat was running down my face into my eyes, but I didn't mop it up. They read out the names of the team, and I waited patiently, hoping my name would be called. But it wasn't. I was so disappointed, I felt like I'd let myself down, the worst kind of let down.

Sensei Clint said that if we wanted to we could ask why we weren't selected, but I had to be at a singing practice at 8, so I had to leave straight away. I'm still...crushed, more than anything :[

Anyway, thats my rant of the day. I have to go and have dinner now.

Hi!

Today I did work (baaaah) and went to my friend Rose's house. It was cool. Then I came home and...ate...food...because I hadn't had any lunch.

I want to rant because I don't get to go to karate today. I have only done one class this week. One class! I'm suffering from major withdrawl syndrome, I usually do five classes.

I'm going to the opera. Feel free to make any opera jokes you wish, because I don't want to go. I want to say at home and then go to karate and come back and watch Americain Idol.

On the bright side, its only two days until Sunday, which means Grey's Anatomy! Yayyyyy! And Tournament Training. Which is 100 press ups and 100 sit ups. Joy...
